True Regrets

Social exchanges lead to conversations,
switching numbers and entertaining foreign sights
Hypnotized from the gleam of those beaming lights, possibilities endless
Risk is in position, steady wondering if you are going to accept the offer

Seconds of laughter disguise the anguish, same type of broken dreams
Once upon a time, it was normal to try and fix it
Instead look past the dance of disappointment desire the distraction
Excuses to not maintain the will of your purpose

Lies for some reason seem to always surface
Never heavy enough to remain in the weight class
Confidence crashes because it was false to begin with
There was dishonesty with the introduction

Starting enchanted by the enticing smell of corruption
Seemingly slow, then the moments they roll into a mound, huge
Noticing the focus somehow goes only one way
Equity was never a thought in our back and fourth

As long as you were benefiting the suffering fell on me
Turning simple miscommunications to personal attacks, how cheap
Attempting to threaten what you know not
Petty behavior is your savior, running you into a whole

Dig yourself deeper, malicious you whisper
Expecting that I may fall, wasting what's most precious
Throwing all created wonders away, as if to cause strain
No one but yourself will be praying for remakes of history

  1. That unfolded into something I would want no parts of. I see why it has that title--
